Due to a security concern at Choteau Public Schools and out of an abundance of caution, MPS has chosen not to attend the Midseason Invitational Volleyball tournament in Choteau on Saturday, September 27th.

Activities Update:

The away C & JV HS Volleyball matches against North Country on Oct. 7th has been canceled.

AP Biology students cooked eggs...chemically! To show chemical denaturing of proteins, the students added a strong base to raw eggs. No eggs were eaten, despite the kids' lively, persuasive, and entertaining debate points to sample their work! #MightyMalta

FCS and Culinary classes made and canned crab apple jelly this week. Tis the season!

Malta Public Schools is partnering with Bear Paw Development Corporation to sponsor a grant writing workshop on Oct. 17. If you are interested in attending, please see the flyer for more details.

Activities Update:

There will not be an away JV volleyball match against Fairview on Friday, September 19th.

Varsity will now play at 3:00 PM.

Mrs. Kate Webb received the Core 3 Award today. She was nominated by Kyle M. The Core 3 Award allows students to recognize any staff member who: Empowers students to learn, Leads with kindness and by example, and exhibits Excellence. The Core 3 reflect our mission statement of "Empowering Learners, Inspiring Leaders" and our motto of "A Tradition of Excellence." Kyle said in his nomination that Mrs. Webb empowers him by "helping him strengthen his voice in Choir."

Mrs. Stacie Simanton is the September recipient of the Core 3 Award for the MS, nominated by Danica and an anonymous student. The Core 3 Award allows students to recognize any staff member who empowers students to learn, leads with kindness and by example, and exhibits excellence. The Core 3 reflects our mission statement of "Empowering Learners, Inspiring Leaders" and our motto of "A Tradition of Excellence." Danica nominated Mrs. Simanton because "she empowers me by being nice when I do not understand, or just being nice when someone interrupts or talks over her." The anonymous student said, "She leads by encouraging us to grow and challenge ourselves." Congratulations, Mrs. Simanton!

The Pep Band and Cheerleaders will be traveling to Havre tomorrow, Monday, September 15th, to support Mustang Football. Departure Time: 1:15 PM Blue slips will not be required. #GoBigBlue

Mustang Football Update: The Malta Mustangs will take the field at Tilleman Field (MSU-Northern) on Monday, September 15th for a rescheduled game against Conrad High School. Location: Tilleman Field, MSU-Northern Kick-off: 4:00 PM Admission: Free for all spectators Please note: the previously scheduled JV Football game vs. Havre JV has been canceled. We will work to reschedule that matchup for a future date. #GoBigBlue

Kickoff for the Mustang- Cowboy football game is set for 8:45 PM.

We are still in a lightning delay at Mustang Field. We do not have a start time set yet. We will continue to update.

We are monitoring the weather in anticipation of the Mustang Homecoming football game tonight. We are anticipating delays in kickoff time. We will update as we get closer to 7:00.

The Homecoming Parade will be Friday, Sept. 12 at 2:00 PM. If you are interested in being in the parade, line up in the HS parking lot by 1:45 PM. The route is included here:

There has been some recent changes to sports schedules.

Thursday, September 11 - MS Volleyball @ Lewistown was added to the schedule.
  7th Grade - 5:30 PM
  8th Grade - 6:30 PM

Monday, September 29 - HS JV Football vs Scobey @ Mustang Field - 5:00 PM was also added to the schedule.

The band treated the school to "random acts of pep band" today.

Additionally, we have added a couple of sub-varsity volleyball contests:

Friday, September 12 - vs. Grass Range (C/JV) Match starts at 4:00 PM
Tuesday, October 7 - @ North Country (C/JV) Match starts at 4:30 PM
