Malta Public Schools is pleased to announce the hiring of Chris Arent as the next Principal of Malta Elementary School, effective July 1, 2026.
Mr. Arent brings more than two decades of educational leadership experience to the position. He currently serves as Superintendent and 7–12 Principal at Potter-Dix Public Schools in Nebraska, where he has led district operations, instructional improvement, and student support initiatives. Over his career, he has also served as a high school principal, middle school principal, and assistant principal, building a strong track record of leadership in rural school settings.
“Chris is a relationship-driven leader who understands the importance of creating a positive learning environment for students and staff,” said Kyle Kluck, Board of Trustees Chair. “His experience, vision, and commitment to student success make him an excellent fit for Malta Elementary.”
Mr. Arent’s leadership philosophy centers on clear communication, high expectations, and strong relationships with students, staff, families, and the community. He has demonstrated success in supporting teachers, managing school operations, and fostering environments where students can thrive academically and socially.
“I am honored to join Malta Public Schools and serve the students, staff, and community,” said Arent. “I look forward to building relationships, supporting teachers, and helping create the best possible learning experience for every student.”
Mr. Arent holds an Education Specialist degree from the University of Nebraska–Kearney and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
